Dr Wendy Carseldine
MBBS, BSc (Hons), FRANZCOG, DDU, MPH, CMFM
Dr Wendy Carseldine is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist and a Maternal Fetal Medicine sub-specialist. Originally from New Zealand, she moved to Australia to attend medical school at the University of Sydney after completing a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at the University of Otago. She subsequently trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Royal Prince Alfred and John Hunter Hospitals. During her Obstetrics and Gynaecology training she gained a Masters in Public Health from the University of Sydney. She also works as a Staff Specialist at John Hunter Hospital.
She joined Ultrasound Care in 2016 and has a special interest in fetal abnormalities and management of high risk pregnancies. Wendy feels proud to be a part of the Ultrasound Care team providing high quality imaging, investigations and counselling to women at each stage of their lives.
Wendy is actively involved in teaching medical students from the University of Newcastle at John Hunter Hospital and Australian National University at the SAN Hospital. She supervises trainees specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, is actively involved in NSW RANZCOG committees and is an examiner for the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (O&G). She is an obstetrician for the Statewide Obstetric Consultant (SOC) Service in NSW.
Wendy lives in Newcastle with her partner and young daughter and enjoys the oceanside lifestyle that Newcastle has to offer.
