Dr Elizabeth Luxford
Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Elizabeth is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist with advanced training in diagnostic ultrasound. She worked in general practice in country NSW before returning to Sydney to complete specialist training at Westmead hospital. Following this, Elizabeth undertook fellowships in high risk obstetrics and ultrasound before joining Ultrasound Care in 2020. She holds a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound, being awarded Dux of the graduating cohort in 2022 in addition to a Diploma of Child Health and Masters of Reproductive Medicine. Elizabeth strives for excellence in her care for patients, and enjoys the myriad of ways in which ultrasound contributes essential information for women and their clinicians. She particularly enjoys performing procedures under ultrasound guidance in the Ultrasound Care rooms, and is known for her empathic and warm style of communication. Elizabeth has had research published in peer reviewed journals and has presented at domestic and international conferences. She is involved in medical student teaching for the Australian National University and Western Sydney University.
Elizabeth also works as a Consultant VMO at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals, providing an outpatient clinic for women with vulvovaginal disorders and oversees gynaecological care for women following bone marrow transplantation. She loves spending time cycling and swimming with her husband and children.
